I love how supportive this bed is without being hard. It has a gel foam layer that is pretty amazing. It absolutely does regulate body temperature, not too hot or cold, just perfect comfort. It is almost like a memory foam. I have been sleeping much better and don't toss and turn at night anymore. I also don't have any pain when I wake up. I am highly satisfied with this bed.
The mattress is a great combination of firm support with a softer top. I've been able to sleep for longer periods of time with this mattress when compared to my old mattress. I would definitely recommend this to friends and family.
This is the most comfortable mattress I've ever owned. The incredible support and softness, while not being too soft, is so amazing---it's like floating on a cloud. For the first time in my life, I was asleep in under 5 mins. And it doesn't matter if you sleep on your back or your side---the support is the same. I just can't say enough about this mattress---worth every penny spent and then some.
This mattress is exactly as advertised. It provides comfort and support while regulating the temperature effectively. Most memory foam mattresses are uncomfortably warm to sleep on especially during the summer months, but not this mattress. I am staying cool and comfortable even during the hottest days of summer. The comfort of the gel memory foam pillow top is amazing. No more sore back, hips and legs. The mattress adjusts to my body and provides just the right amount of comfort. I was afraid it might be too firm at first but after a few days of adjusting to the new mattress, I am sleeping better and I am not tossing and turning all night long anymore. In fact, some mornings I don't want to get out of bed because I am so comfortable. For the first time in over a year I am actually sleeping all night comfortably without springs poking me in the back or side and I am not rolling off the sagging mattress. I can sleep all the way to the edge of this mattress without feeling as if I am going to roll off the bed.
I love my new iComfort Foresight mattress. It's the perfect amount of joint friendly softness and back friendly support. There's that initial high quality body conforming squish followed by good support that only the best memory foam can provide. I haven't owned a spring mattress in fifteen years, and I'll never go back. This mattress is a dream!
First 1-2 days - felt little hard but from 3rd day onwards - it was really good - seems it takes some time to settle now.
The mattress is excellent and really enjoyed. its very comfy and you don't feel any hardness in mattress anymore. we are really enjoying the sleep.
We really feel the comfort over the previous bed. extra cushion gives extra support to the back - extra comfort.
I always had some sort of dis-satisfaction with mattresses I bought in past. And it is something not easy to decide what is perfect mattress for me. Last time I bought a national brand mattress from one of the wholesale club stores, as they generally sell quality items, that mattress didn't give me good sleep as I couldn't sleep in one position for long time. Sometimes I even slept on the floor!
For past 2 weeks or so, I have been using Serta iComfort Applause II Firm mattress, which is relatively firm compared to my previous mattress. I generally sleep either on side or on my back. The support and comfort it provides is amazing. I am getting good sleep and feeling much better in the mornings. I highly recommend this mattress.
I like the firmness of the mattress but the plush top also offers the cushion that me and husband especially like. I really can't think of any cons... Most important things to us are comfort and quality of sleep. With this product we are achieving both.
I was a bit wary of this mattress at first that it may be to soft to provide adequate support but the Wrap Coil technology and Cool Twist memory foam totally minimized that issue. I'm a side sleeper and I found this mattress wonderful for contouring and support along the curves of my body. My biggest issue with soft mattresses is the retaining of heat but I have to say I found this mattress does provide a cooler nights sleep. The Cool Balance design in the mattress prevents over heating as typical soft mattresses can do. In my opinion I feel this mattress does provide the Ultimate support while still providing a soft cloud like feeling when lying in it.
The Expertise Super Pillow Top is the best mattress you need to get if you want a good night sleep and wake with no back pain. It is a really well made mattress the box spring is very sturdy and the mattress has a very nice and soft pillow top that forms to your body thank to the gel memory foam. It is not to soft and not to firm it is just right. It really is the best night sleep i have gotten. it is made of really high quality material it feel super plush and when you sit down there is no movement to the mattress which is really good. It provides the support i needed in all the right places.
We are new owners of the Savant mattress and so far it has met all our expectations. I have arthritis in my back and always woke up with back pain, but so far I have not with my new I-Comfort mattress. My only complaint is I still get really hot sleeping on this mattress, but I'm willing to endure that to have a pain free night's sleep.
This mattress, what a dream! The plush feel is so soft and comfortable, but at the same time, offered the support that most plush mattresses don't have. The quality of the mattress is excellent; when you see it, it speaks for itself. I usually struggle with getting hot when I sleep so I was really looking forward to the EverCool Plus memory foam in the mattress; another great addition! I sleep softly, with great back and body support, and stay cool the entire night. For me that means actually sleeping through the night with little or no interruption. Another perfect example of how Serta researches and actually cares about about how people sleep and what different pieces can be added to their mattress's so that there is one designed for almost everyone. This mattress is a dream, I would definitely recommend trying it out. I'm hoping to replace the others in my house with the iComfort Savant III Plush. Thank you Serta!
After sleeping on this mattress i have found that i get a better nights sleep. Not only does this conform to your body but it keeps you cooler at night giving a better nights sleep.
Dealing with pain we have been able to sleep more through the night and waking up feeling refreshed and ready to go.
No longer do we wake up feeling those annoying aches and pains.
The comfort of the material allows you to fall asleep faster and sleep better.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is wanting a great nights sleep and wanting to wake up feeling great.
This is the most comfortable mattress you could ever own.
I was against this purchase at first, My girlfriend picked out the bed. WE bought the Prodigy floor model for $1400, and I can honestly say its the best bed I have ever slept on! IT makes a world a difference! I love it.
I am a side sleeper and this bed has been great. I can actually sleep on my arm and it will not go to sleep. It is not too firm or too soft. I have slept much better since getting the bed. I would recommend the icomfort pillows also they work well with the bed.
After having this for just about 1 yr my husband and i have not had a good comfortable nights sleep after about 2 months of owning. If it wasnt such an expensive purchase we would get rid of it. We are currently looking at other options to purchase a new bed. I would not reccomend this to anyone.
The mattress itself is great, however i would have liked it to be a little firmer, but is comfortable, specially when you lay down, because when i seat on the bed to watch tv, it does not provide very good support to my butt, it sinks and my back feels uncomfortable and i have to keep moving around or lying on my side, i like that the mattress molds to my body, no over heating, and doesn't move too much when someone else climbs into bed, but is more than two weeks and i still prefer my old mattress. maybe my body needs a little more time to adjust because i can not say that i have the best sleep ever yet
I had usually slept on a traditional inner spring mattress, but tried the iComfort Foresight mattress as I wanted to try a memory foam mattress. I found with the traditional mattress I would have to "crack" my back in the mornings as my back would get out of alignment while I slept. I have found with the iComfort Foresight mattress I do not have to do this. I find when I get into bed at night I lay down and pretty well stay in that position for the night. I'm not tossing and turning all night trying to find a comfortable position. The mattress molds to me and cradles my body. If you get close to the edge of the bed, it doesn't collapse and make you feel like you'll fall off. I have also found that the cool gel technology helps. I would have night sweats before, but have found I haven't had them as much as before. I know some people have said that the memory foam has a chemical smell that is given off, I did not find this to be true with my mattress. I like how the foam "bounces back" and comes back to it's original shape. When the bed is made, it's a "flat" bed, you don't have a nice pillow, fluffed up top to you bedspread. I found the mattress is also a bit lighter to lift up the corners when putting a fitted sheet on the corners. I would recommend this mattress to anyone who wants a comfortable, non-tossing and turning restless sleep.
Bought my first Serta Perfect Sleeper in 1988, my second one in 2015. Purchased other mattresses during intervening years, but they never felt as good as the Serta. Now my shoulders and hips feel great in the morning! Don't mess with other brands, buy the Serta Perfect Sleeper and get your best sleep ever.
This is one of the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. Very soft yet firm support. Only con was the very strong chemical smell when it came out of the plastic. Took a few days to air out. No matter, all is good now and I'm enjoying the comfort. Great value for the price!
I purchased a firm Serta Perfect Sleeper one week ago. It felt comfortable in the store with a lower box spring, but after trying to sleep on it at home it is much too firm and like sleeping on a rock. Doesn't matter how I sleep, it is miserable. The box spring is too high for my 5 ft. frame and I'm going back to the store tomorrow to hopefully find one that meets my needs. I'll loose more money in the transfer, but this one is killing me.
Mattress was great a first. After a few months had to turn the mattress. Felt lumpy. Had bought 2 mattresses for the house. A king and a queen. Both are terrible. They have an indention that will not go away. If you get in the indention you can not get out. Will not buy Serta again.
Every mattress that I've ever had was really plush and every time I get out of the bed my babies or partner knew it, and besides that my body would hurt sometimes. I thought maybe I need a firm mattress and then I would sleep better, but I was wrong. When I received the Perfect Sleeper Castleview Firm mattress I was so excited because I was in need of a new mattress and I thought it would help me sleep more comfortably. Ever since I've started sleeping on this mattress I have been waking up with my back hurting, I wake up different times throughout the night because I am not comfortable and the bed just feels too firm. Some may find it comfortable but I just find that it's hard and it makes my body ache. I also noticed that when I'm sleeping I'm always kind of warm when I'm use to being cold at night, I guess this has something to do with the temperature regulation. Overall the quality is great but the firmness of the bed is too firm for me.
I am very pleased with our new, queen sized Perfect Sleeper Castleview Cushion Firm Super PillowTop mattress from Serta. It is the most comfortable mattress I have ever owned. The pillowtop portion is not so large to make it uncomfortable, but think enough to give extra cushion on the firm mattress below. It is the perfect mix of cushion and firmness and leads to a great night's sleep every night!
My husband has a bad back and he just loves how firm it is and he says it is better then our old one. I love it also and if I had to give one thing that I felt could be better it would be the Sides need to be a little more sturdy but we are very happy with our new mattress and box spring. So thanks Serta for making a bed that helps my husbands bad back.
Bellagio Avanzare Super Pillow Top Awesome bed!!!!
April 14, 2016
I purchased the Bellagio Avanzare Super Pillow Top. I could go on and on about how wonderful this bed is. I have horrible back pain, and had 2 back surgeries including a fusion. I now have another bulging and a ruptured disc. I had a Tempurpedic but it was too firm. I woke up everyday unable to stand up straight. I would toss and turn all night, and just could not get comfortable. No matter how many pillows I would use to prop myself, etc., nothing worked. I could never sleep on my back with the Tempurpedic because it felt like I could feel the rods and screws in my back.
This Serta Bellagio Avanzare Super Pillow Top is just amazing. I also got the Serta Motion base. I am now able to sleep on my back, and in any position I am comfortable. I no longer have 5 pillows in my bed to use for props, etc. No more tossing and turning all night and I wake up able to stand up straight.
I must have tried at least 30 different brands/types of beds before I settled on this one. The bed is pricey and I saw many reviews barking about the price of this bed. My thoughts are; if you buy cheap, you get what you pay for. If you buy a cheaper bed, you will only buy another bed in a few years and wish you had the best from the beginning. It is worth every penny I paid because I finally I am getting a good nights sleep. The quality of the workmanship of this bed is outstanding.
I did a lot of research. Did my due diligence. Stayed in the Goldilocks area of comfort and support. Great support since I do have arthritis and had knee replacement. Made sure I got the matching box spring and a very good frame too. I love the cool comfort and the name brand is important to me too. Make sure you check all sites/reviews and you must try it out in a store too. That's so important.
I had 90 days to return this mattress, and while it wasn't very comfortable at first I thought I'd get used to it. Now at 6 months the "memory" foam on my side feels like I'm sleeping in a hole. If I lay in the center it doesn't compress as much, but out towards the sides it's getting unbearable. I've never had a mattress I hated so much, but the good news I never over sleep anymore because I can't wait to climb out of this thing in the morning.
The bed feels comfortable when you're laying in it at first but after a few weeks of sleeping on it, I started having severe back pain. It's too soft for me and I was getting almost no sleep due to being so uncomfortable. Trading m it in for something more firm.
We have had this mattress now for 3 months and are looking to return it. First of all, we bought a "king" size and it turns out that it is not a true king size. The mattress measures 73x78 .... King standard mattress is 76 x 80. Naturally, we cannot find sheets to fit it. I have arthritis and I have now had to modify how I sleep. My shoulders and hips hurt if I sleep on them too long in one position. Thankfully, we still have our old mattress and after tossing and turning in pain for hours I end up going back to the guest bedroom to sleep. I do not recommend this mattress.
We have had the savant queen size mattress going on 4 years now. In the beginning this mattress was great. It conformed to your body. Like your were being hugged. We slept great. However as the bed got older it did not hug our bodies as well. Now the bed sags in the middle it does not confor to us anymore. It is just like sleeping on an old spring type mattress. We lay down in the bed the four corners raise up it is really uncomfortable. The money spent on thus mattress to have it last 4 years is not very good. Had this mattress lasted closer to 15 years it would be well wOrth the money. At 4 years it is very expensive we would have been better off buying a cheaper spring type mattress.
We have had regular coil and pillow top mattresses our whole life so we were excited to try out a fancier mattress. Never had I imagined I would spend $2000 on a bed and then end up hating it!
Within the first week we were waking up in the middle of the night with pain in our ribs and we just figured they were hunger pains so we both got up and had a snack. However, after a week of getting up from this pain we realized it was not hunger pains. We waited a whole month to see if our body would adjust to the new technology of the mattress, and it did not. In fact, instead of just rib pain we began having lower back pain as well. We even got the PLUSH version of this mattress.
We are going to try a serta HYBRID hoping that the coils that we are so familiar to sleeping on will help rid the pain from sleeping on this ROCK HARD bed.
it took a while to catch up to my wife and I. But both of us wake up with back pain pretty regularly. We're healthy couple in our 30's. I never listened to stories of how important a mattress is until now. I couldn't recommend anything about this mattress.
Like sleeping on cement/memory foam impression problem
December 22, 2015
I originally purchased the Serta iSeries Expressions Firm queen set, after six months it started to sag, prior to this it was comfortable. So when CT Mattress offered a one time only exchange (without any comfort guarantee), I chose not to go with the same model. Since I like a firm mattress, I tried the Genius Everfeel display model in the store, which was comfortable. Upon receiving the new mattress It was like a rock, literally like sleeping on pavement. The Sales representative said they need to be broken in, 1 week later and it is starting to develop a softer feel which is MIS ALIGINING my spine!!!! Now I have a cement mattress with an impression that makes me wake up in terrible pain.
Some reviewers say it is wonderful, maybe they got a mattress that was not defective. The mattress even looks and feels cheap, it is a standard size mattress, so the one and only good thing is that you will not need deep pocket sheets....it all goes downhill from there.
Upon contacting CT Mattress I was told it still needed time to be "broken" in. Ok, so if I wait a month not sleeping then the Serta Gods will waive a magic wand to make it comfortable!?!?!?
I'm terribly disappointed in both Serta and the retailer at this point. If you want to waste $1,500 and like sleeping on a floor with a hole in it...GO FOR IT.
If I could give this zero stars across the board I would.
When my husband and I first received our new mattress, it was so comfortable. I have back pain issues and like having a firm bed to sleep on. However, our mattress is now 3 years old and has lost much of it's support. I weigh less than 140lbs and my husband is under 190lbs. We both are back to having back problems, tossing and turning all night. There are no visible signs of sag on my mattress, so the warranty is useless. Ultimately this pricey mattress was a poor investment and we are very disappointed.
I have lower back pain and decided to try this mattress. Thought this mattress set would help. I wake up in a lot of pain even after 4 months. Recently very painful for sleep on the back after stomach surgery. Very disappointed.
I purchased your top rated memory form mattress in January 2015 the Savant Everfeel Plush and was very happy with it for the first few months.. Then noticed it was hot to sleep on and made it so uncomfortable especially during summer using just cotton sheets, so figured I could live with it as in winter would come in handy on cold nights, so I let it go.
Now, a different issue, now it feels like I’m sleeping in a valley with a big dip in the middle and hard to get out of, very uncomfortable and when getting up feels like a train ran over me.. Mind you I only way 140 lbs and a side sleeper that sleeps on one side of the bed.
I probably would have found another excuse for this issue but my sister house sitted last week-end and slept on it and when back I asked her, “by the was the bed comfortable” She stated , "I woke up with a back ache and there’s a big sag in the middle and didn’t get much sleep ". That only confirmed I wasn't crazy. I’m 65 yrs old and still working and drive two hours a day to get to work and should be getting a good night’s rest.
Paying a cost of $1700 I thought I would be getting quality workmanship. As they say, “you get what you pay for”, in this situation I didn’t get that so very disappointed in this product and will not recommend to anyone.
If the pot hole issue is resolved then I would not have any issues as it was very comfortable when
Note we also purchased about a week apart from above the Insight Everfeel, so purchase total
was $2898, so will be very unhappy if something can’t be done with this mattress?
We have had our set since July 2014 and we just love it!!! It is such a comfortable bed and tell everyone about it.My husband and I have back problems and could not sleep more than 5 hours because our backs would bother us.....
Friends of ours had a house fire and lost almost everything in there house and replaced their mattress in all 3 bedroom with Serta.
thanks for having such a wonderful product. Darrell and Cheryl
My only regret is waiting so long to buy one of these mattresses. I picked this one because it is firm, but at the same time the top inch or so allows your body to meld into the mattress. There are no pressure points, no stiffness in the mornings, and I can't feel it if my wife tosses & turns at night. She's oblivious to me doing the same. My existing queen sized sheets & bedding were fully compatible.
I recently purchased a IComfort Genius with an adjustable base to replace an inner spring mattress and flat base. The price was good and it felt better than my old mattress. After sleeping on it for a month, I decided that it was just not the right fit for me. I'm 6-3 300lb and have have various contact sports related injuries that are really starting to bother my 50 year-old plus body. I found that the bed was too firm to lay on flat and that I could only sleep well on it by using the adjustable base. Unfortunately/fortunately I was sick during that first 30 days and on several occasion I went to bed early to read or watch TV and I got to try out the adjustable base to the extreme for extended periods of time. I found that the mattress was just too firm around my calves and my feet became numb, although I felt well supported on my back and thighs. I could not get comfortable on my side as the bed was too firm to accommodate my shoulder which I had previously dislocated. Over all I liked the feeling of the mattress but it just did not have enough deep give to accommodate my sore areas. I liked that I didn't feel sucked into the bed I found the temperature to be nice. I traded it in for a more giving IComfort mattress that better accommodates those old injuries.
Yes Serta mattresses are a little more expensive then your typical mattress, however they are well worth the money. The comfort alone is amazing and from my own personal experience they stand behind their mattresses 100%. Plus with the new loyalty rewards where you get a $100 a year towards a new mattress how can you say no. A wonderful product at a decent price and a great company that rewards their customers. :)
This new mattress allowed us to get a good nights sleep. This has great support and comfort with no pocket body forming lumps. My husband was having severe back pain and I was having neck/back problems, but neither of us no longer suffer from those each morning.
We purchased an I-comfort prodigy a little over a year ago. As many other reviews have said, it was a good mattress for the first 6 months or so and has since been getting progressively worse. I get up in the morning and sit on the side of the bed and feel like I am sitting on the platform. I wake up in a dip in the morning, it is difficult to roll over. The mattress is also NOT cool, it is quite the opposite in fact. When we first purchased the mattress, I couldn't tell if my husband was moving or still in bed even. Now, a little over a year since purchase and I can tell whenever he moves and especially when he gets out of bed. Frustrated with the purchase. That is a LOT of money to spend on a mattress to not have it last
Had a serta perfect sleeper for 18 yrs & was very satisfied. Decided to get a new mattress & after looking for several months & trying out different sertas I narrowed down to the hybrid & the icomfort prodigy. I purchased the hybrid. After a couple of months I realized it wasn't very comfortable. Swapped it out for the icomfort prodigy. I was excited to get this even though it cost more. After a couple of weeks I was very disappointed that this mattress was not comfortable either. Someone described turning over like swimming up stream in sand. Perfect description! I bought the adjustable frame & there isn't any position I can find that is comfortable. I think the "memory" foam must mean it remembers your body impression. I've had this mattress for 4 months & it has already gotten soft & seems to sag. When just looking at it, it looks fine, but when you lie down you sag into your impression. You can't turn this mattress & it's not made to flip. I am SO disappointed with Serta. I loved my old mattress & really had no problems with it just thought it was time to upgrade. Sad to say "I hate this mattress". I now usually sleep on the couch or in the La-Z-Boy. If you're planning on getting an icomfort, really check it out and make sure that's what you want. I thought I did all the checking for 3-6 months & it didn't work out.
Bought this mattress after trying it out at our local Sleepy's store. It is our first memory foam mattress. We use it with an adjustable bed (also purchased at Sleepy's). The mattress does provide excellent support without leaving an indentation like some mattresses do. It has helped with joint pain.
Simply amazing! Have not slept and felt this good in years!
October 19, 2015
My first night on the mattress was amazing I could not believe I slept through the entire night. I have rheumatoid arthritis at the young age of 25 and this bed just by itself takes away so much of my pain. I have had the mattress for a week now and have so much more energy now during the day because I am able to sleep at night.
This mattress is bad. The site won't let me say what it really is. I've had it 5 months and replaced the box springs. It still sags in the middle. I weight 135 pounds, so I find it hard to believe that it would start sagging so soon. I have to buy another mattress and it will not be a Serta. Way overpriced. I thought I was buying a quality mattress.
When we first got this mattress, it was wonderful. The first few days were great and I had no back pain at all. As we continued to sleep on it, my back pain came back, as well as my husband's hip and shoulder pain. Actually, my back hurts worse than it did on my old mattress. I spent a lot of money on this mattress and am very disappointed that it hasn't helped my back pain.
Hopefully I can help anyone deciding between a savant or the prodigy. I purchased the savant first and later exchanged it for the prodigy. Someone new to foam beds must understand these mattresses are much firmer until they break in. That being said, the only reason I exchanged mattresses is because I'm a side sleeper and the savant was not soft enough. I would wake up with stiffness in the shoulder I was lying on. I kept the mattress for almost 6 months and there was noticable improvement over time.
From what I read in the Serta website, the savant is softer than the Protigy. I do not understand this because the prodigy has much more give. The store associate told me to walk on my savant to speed up the break in process. I utilized this same technique when the Protigy was new and almost think I made it too soft. This was disappointing at first, but I either got used to it or it firmed back up a little to my liking. I have never awoken with shoulder pain since I switched to the Protigy. The bed is very comfortable in just about any position. The only negative I have with the switch is the Protigy sleeps much hotter. With the Savant, I never understood why there were so many discussions about being hot. My opinion is the Protigy wraps around your body more and can cause sweating. As we move into the summer, I can't even sleep with a blanket.
Despite pointing out the negatives, I am happy with this purchase. Since switching to the foam, I have never woke up with back pain. I purchased a new mattress in the first place as a result of back pain every morning. I would suggest finding a level of soft that works for you without going overboard. I feel the softer you go, the hotter it gets.
Had expensive pillow top mattresses (not serta) and they pitted out to the point ht it hurt my back and hips. I weigh 180 wife 100 so we could not turn the mattress due to the pit. So far this mattress has not pitted and is helping my back and hip. The mattress if very firm, meets my needs. Probably not a good choice if you want soft or pillow effect.
3 years of ownership - from great to not so great!
September 20, 2015
My husband and I bought the insight about 3+ years ago. I have cervical neck and upper spine issues and was having great difficulty sleeping.
I wanted the Genius model because I like a firm mattress but the Insight model was a compromise with my Husband who wanted a little more plush. I do not believe it has the everfeel layer, because I do not recall the everfeel layer being mentioned or marketed at the time. Initially, it was great compared to our old mattress. The quality of materials and covering is superior to others in the price range. The edges were firm and the mattress was supportive and soft at the same time. Also, there was no major off smell which I was impressed about.
Our biggest issue from the start, was that the bed still felt really warm despite having a cool gel layer. We live in Florida and run our AC year round so our bed room is almost the same temperature year round. We bought a much thinner bedspread and that helped a lot, but most nights we cannot use more than a sheet. When the ac does come on blasting out cold air we are covering and uncovering, disturbing our sleep. It is a very warm, not quite hot bed! I would probably love it if I were still living in Maine in the winter!
Anyway, over the years the top layer of softer foam has softened to the point that we felt like we were drowning in the bed at night. It slowly lost the initial firmness and support that we liked. We were both falling into the middle at night as though we were being sucked into a hot mud hole. Trying to climb out towards the edges was futile as we wound up right back in the middle squished, hot and uncomfortable!
My neck and back began to hurt horribly and we both have suffered from new foot pains too.
We rotated the bed to try to wear it more evenly as these beds are one sided only. It worked for awhile then squish, squish!
Forget good midnight fun, it’s too squish for any leverage. (the review would not let me use the s word)
We lifted up the mattress to check the box spring and all seems ok there, no sagging. I even tried sleeping sideways across the bed...
My husband and I are average height and weight, so it is not a matter of that either.
Desperate to make it firmer we put extra plywood boards under the mattress, between the box spring, trying to firm it up and stop the middle sag. No luck :(
We figured that none of the issues we were having would be covered under the so called warranty,so we never to tried to return it after so long.
Finally we decided to actually turn the mattress over to the bottom side which is harder foam! The support was great for my neck and upper spine issues but it too began to soften up just like the top, although not quite as much. We do not roll together anymore at night but are now roasting to the point that we wake up drenched in sweat. I guess the cool gel layer did work a little bit...
I am going to buy a thick cotton cover/pad to try to relieve the heat. Who knows, maybe we would have been happier with the firmer Genius model, but we still don't like the heat at night and we are disappointed we didn't even get 5 good years out of this thing we paid $1700 for!
The bottom line...
1. Initially great support
2. Sleeps VERY warm to hot (even with cool gel)
3. Will go too soft with time, within 1-3 years
4. Not good for midnight fun!
5. You will eventually WIND UP REGRETTING BUYING IT
I have only slept on this bed one night, and there was a sever thunderstorm and I did not wake up at all. But it is a firm bed, even though I ordered a not firm but not a soft mattress it still feels very firm to me. I figured it being memory foam it would couture my body more, but I feel as if it don't.
I bought this mattress with hopes that the no springs would keep me from waking up from pressure on joints. Not only do I sleep on the softest bed ever, i sleep longer! I have bought the adjustable base and I don't wake myself up snoring now. My mood has improved, I don't ache when I wake up, I have even stopped using my sleep machine. To me my overall well being has improved thanks to Serta.
The cost is high, but well worth ever penny for a good nights sleep. My only wish was that the bed not be so tall. I am 5 foot tall and have to use a stool to get into bed. The motor in the adj base is quiet and I am sure it will only get quieter. Mattress is pretty thick, but being that I am a big woman I like that I do not feel like I sink clear to the bottom, and while it is difficult to get in and out of do to the softness, I wouldn't change that for anything. love the comfort.
I would definitely recommend this bed. It's super soft but at the same time it has the right firmness to it. I bought an icomfort and tried it out for 30 days and ended up returning it and buying this bed. I'm glad I did because it's much more comfortable.
I REALLY can't say enough about this bed! My husband and I got the king adjustable and it has turned out to be the BEST decision we could have made for restful sleep. We've had it about a year now, I figured I'd wait some time before I reviewed... It feels like I would describe it as feeling cradled and enveloped in sweet comfort that allows you to quickly drift off to sleep. I have NEVER been able to sleep ALL thru the night, waking multiple times on our previous mattress. Not with our SAVANT! I don't wake until 8 or 9 o'clock in the morning (given the neighbor's dog doesn't bark his head off next door at 6)... I should mention I have Fibromyalgia and my husband has Scaitia due to a cyst on his spine and this bed has been a Godsend. With this bed we do not wake up with the aching we used to experience in the morning. We wake up refreshed! The only problem we've encountered is, with the adjustable base, we haven't found a solution to keeping the mattresses from splitting apart. It is challenging if you like snuggling with your partner. There HAS to be a solution to this. Any suggestion would be appreciated! Would DEFINITELY recommend and will most likely be a repeat customer!
I never thought I would be taking a time to write a review of a mattress but I am so impressed with the Serta InSight mattress -- it has made such an impact on the quality of my sleep. Previously I would drag myself out of bed, still tired and my back was starting to ache. Now I realize what deep restful sleep really feels like. I wake up feeling fully refreshed, rested and no ached and pains - I am really happy I made this purchase. I also bought the iComfort contour pillows which are wonderful. GREAT PRODUCTS
My husband and I were looking for a mattress that was more on the soft side than firm. We got this mattress because of where the firmness rating was advertised. When we recieved it we had hopes that because it was so new it was not "broken in" yet. This mattress to us should be classified as extremely firm. We have a 3 inch memory foam topper on it and it is still to firm. Since we are out of our "trial" period we will be giving this expensive mattress to one of the kids. Very disappointed on the way it is advertised.
This mattress began to sag at apprx 6-7 months. It is now 15 months and sags terribly. It has not sagged to 3/4 inch yet so I know there is no warranty. My wife weighs 140 and I weigh 200. The mattress should not sag that badly at this time. We purchased the mattress because my back was hurting. When we first got the mattress my back stopped hurting, it is now back to hurting. Poor support, I doubt I will buy another.
My wife really liked it so I bought it. I guess the price was decent and I do not mind too much because it made my wife happy to replace our queen memory gel bed to a king. I really doubt the bed will ever wear out because we are not heavy people. Also, if she gets great sleep it certainly will make my life less stressful. HOWEVER, I always read reviews about everything I buy using multiple websites. The following could be a different competitors doing but I am a bit concerned because of the bad reviews I have read about this particular model bed after it breaks in. Also about Serta's warranty coverage not being fulfilled. People and competitors can be dishonest, regardless I am taking a chance on this one because it was one of the most comfortable beds in the store only comparable with two other beds that were much more expensive. Lets hope it works out.
I purchased the Applause Firm in January. At first I liked it, but over 4-5 weeks, I woke up stiffer and stiffer.
Tried mattress pads and constantly trying to improve sleeping. The pocket coils redistribute pressure points
to parts of my body with less padding, my lumbar spine and hips. Another reviewer said the same thing. It's too hard. Also, I usually am a stomach sleeper, and the pocket coils do not align the spine right for stomach sleepers, though I have tried sleeping on my back more, but still with discomfort. My last Serta that I loved was a double-sided pillowsoft mattress that was firm underneath, made when pillowsoft meant just a little padding. Tried memory foam, which just lets the spine get more out of position. DIsappointed now in what I thought would be a great mattress.
We've been sleeping on this bed for a couple of weeks now and we love it. My wife was hesitant to change but now admits she is definitely sleeping better. Sometimes when I go in she's just lying there awake because it's "so comfortable". I agree. I get in the "Zero G" position and I swear it feels like I'm floating. Sometimes when I'm drifting off to sleep I feel like my body is still sinking in, even though I'm laying on my side. When I've overindulged, or eaten too close to bedtime, I just adjust my head upward to prevent reflux and drift off to sleep. I used to have to put on my robe and sleep sitting up on a big cushion. Very uncomfortable. Now I can't wait to get to bed.
We have noticed about the last 6 months that there is sagging in the sleeping area. By appearances it might not be the 3/4" they say is necessary to benefit the warranty, but you can definitely tell the difference with even just your hands. The area where we sleep is soft and pushes in cushy and the head of the bed and the foot of the bed is still extremely firm like the day we bought the mattress. Every night I climb into bed I sink into my body mold. We have rotated the mattress so it is nothing to do with no rotation. It's almost as if the foam's firm fibers (the particles that make it firm) have broken down, although it rises back up slowly, but not to full flatness. We are having the company come out to inspect it and I am not sure they will do anything about it. I will update my review when that happens. As for now I am extremely unhappy about my mattress and my back hurts daily due to the non-support of my firm mattress.
At the sixth decade of my life I have had several type of mattresses... until this one. Oh, my! What a difference! If only Serta had come out with this product decades ago!
This (iConfort Genius) is by far the most comfortable mattress I have slept on. It conforms to your posture as well as is soft and firm; it is not warm as the competition, it maintains it "coolness". Outstanding mattress to help "eliminate" back pains. As for price is a bit expensive, but worth its price. Did not provide 5 starts due to its price, but because after two months of use I can feel I need to move aside from my normal place of sleep as it is conforming to my figure. Moving to the right or left of the mattress, can immediately feel the difference.
Nevertheless, it is an outstanding and best mattress I have slept on, even considering Asia and Europe 5+ star hotels.
Definitely, do recommend this product.
I had a choice between this mattress and a competitor's mattress.. I bought the competitor's mattress.. a month went by and I found myself wondering what the Savant slept like, was it more soft? So I returned the competitor's mattress and bought the Savant. Couldn't be happier, It's everything my wife and I were looking for in a mattress, super soft like a marshmallow, but yet still very supportive. The only con I have is that I'm missing the month in which I didn't have the Savant.
I have slept better than Ever on this matress. I was waking up with stiff & numb arms and fingers. Since I got this bed I have nothing but great sleep at night. I wake up fresh & rested and without pain. I highly recommend this matress worth every penny. Get one & you will see! We are planning on buying a second one to replace our other bed.
Right from the top, this is a very comfortable mattress. For those who may live next to a busy commercial airport, railway, or like myself, next to a freeway, you may encounter this problem. Very heavy vehicles that pound the earth as they pass by, create a rumble that transmits up through the earth,
and the foundation of the house, through the mattress, the pillow and very likely will cause you to wake up. I have lived in this house for 30 years, and on a conventional mattress, never encountered this issue. Having called Serta Tech Support, they have never had an issue stated to them about this. Just be aware.
My wife and I bought this bed 6 mos. ago. Tried out in the store and saw the big difference in bedding. This is the most comfortable bed we've ever had. We now sleep through the night with know pain in our backs or knees. Like the way it conforms to your body. No soft spots like in the spring mattresses where you slept. It's the same every time you go to bed. We're glad we went to look for new bedroom furniture and got a chance to try this bed. Serta has done wonders with this line of bedding. Our next set of bedding will be from this line. Wonderful!
Bought this mattress for our daughter after purchasing one for ourselves a few months ago. She LOVES her new mattress. Very comfortable and provides great support (she plays sports). Only problem is now it's hard to get her out of bed in the morning! My entire family recommends this mattress. You will not be disappointed.
We slept on the same mattress for 20 yrs. due to paralysis thru analysis and it hurt at the end. Then we bought the I-Comfort, the Insight 2nd firmest model. At first we thought we made a bad choice, it was too firm and hard to get out of. We bought it last September and it has softened up or we adjusted to it., it takes about 3 months to get the real feel.
It took a little while to get used to sleeping on the foam as I tended to sink in (just a bit) and found it difficult to move. I splurged and bought the adjustable foundation. I LOVE the Massage setting/timer feature as well as the Zero G. I really do feel like I'm floating on a cloud!!! I felt confident in my purchase because of the Serta name and reputation. I am loving the opportunity to get a good night's sleep. Thank you!
We purchased our Genius iComfort in December, was delivered at home on 12/01/12 and until 1st week of January we slept on it great. Since then we have been waking up with sore backs and overall not rested body feeling. I have had a lot more discomfort than my husband has but both of us don't feel like the mattress is supportive enough (working with the body's pressure points). We think because the bed was harder, we didn't feel any pain for the first month of use but now that the mattress is 'breaking in', it is not soft enough or firm enough any more to support us. We had a mattress topper while we had the old mattress for about 2 weeks and it made all the difference so we might have to switch to a softer iComfort. The only issue is the softer we go, the more expensive it is. Feels like we have no choice now but to spend the extra money because we can't sleep and this impacts our lives in a big way. Or return the mattress and choose a different brand all together.
We were so excited when we picked it out and thought we will love it and enjoy it for years to come. Unfortunately, that is not the case now.
I suffer from severe back pains. I purchased two other mattresses and had to return them before I found this one. I sleep all night and no back pain in the morning. Extremely comfortable! Love my new mattress!
Since I got this mattress, everyday my wife and I wake up, we feel that our bodies are crushed. Never experienced this with other beds that were much cheaper. I have only had this mattress for a little over 90 days.
I had to treat myself to something special, the I cloud savant. proved to me that I made the right chose. after a period of adjustment, in my case one month I now wake up, no joke, like I slept on a cloud.what a difference.this is my first memory foam mattress and moving from conventional to foam works for me, my back pains are almost gone. the comfort gel eliminates hot spots for a more restful sleep. nice going Serta
We bought the Genius to begin with and after two months, we just could not get used to the firm mattress. No questions asked, a new mattress was delivered the next week and 'My Oh My' we are in heaven. Great product and Great customer service!!
Our Serta Perfect Sleeper boxspring broke after 1.5 years, mattress sags. Awaiting replacement-will post result.
November 16, 2014
The boxspring has only 1 4-inch very thin board that runs in the middle of the whole length of the bed. It should have at least 2 more because the boards running cross-wise (the width of the boxspring) broke on both sides of the middle support board. The mattress sags now. I've contacted Serta for a replacement and will re-post when I get a replacement.
I really was in dire need of a new mattress, but so scared about not getting the right one. The Serta I-Comfort I decided on has been perfect in every way. It is soothing to get into every night, & I find I am doing no tossing & turning trying to get comfortable, and usually always awake in just about the same spot! Sound sleep is the greatest benefit of all, with no back aches!
My husband and I were tired of waking up with back aches, so we decided to try the I comfort mattress. I also was interested because of the recommended cooling gel. We tried several mattresses and final bought the set. It has been a year and needless to say, we were both very unhappy. We both still get backaches, the mattress now has started to curl up in the corners and the cooling gel, never worked. If anything, due to the fact that you have to use their special mattress moisture protection cover, it traps the body heat more. We both believe that it was a total waste of money. We thought we had given it a fair shot, but no thank you.
I recently woke up after my first night sleeping on our brand new Serta iComfort Prodigy mattress. It was delivered just yesterday.
My previous mattress, a Serta Perfect Sleeper (Royale), is now leaning against a wall waiting for the donation truck to pick it up in a few days.
I am truly sorry to write a one-star review on a company's official website, but I wanted to give others out there the heads up that this mattress is by no means "cool", as is so aggressively marketed. To the contrary, I woke up twice last night in a hot sweat. This has never ever happened to me before and I am having serious doubts as to whether this bed and I will be getting along.
In promotional material, Serta continuously mentions the gel infused cooling memory foam, the cooling action, and the CoolReaction recovery. Really? I just don't feel it. Absolutely nothing cool or cooling about my Prodigy bed -- whatsoever. Serta: were you referring to the cool LOOKS of the bed? If so, I apologize in advance, but if you truly were trying to imply that the bed I just slept in has any temperature lowering benefits, I would like to set the record straight. It just doesn't. If anything, it is the total opposite.
Serta: I know, I know, "try it for a few weeks". If I can, I will, but, in the meantime, I will be calling the charity to hold off on the donation of my old spring mattress. I may very well be switching back.
When our mattress was first delivered it Was extremely firmer than the mattress we tried in the store. Felt like sleeping on the floor. It took a month and a half for it to finally soften up. This mattress is suppose to be medium firm and after sleeping on it for 60 days I believe that to be true. I would not recommend this mattress for side sleepers or stomach sleepers. When I sleep on my stomach I wake up feeling discomfort and pressure on my stomach and chest area. I sleep mostly on my side and I wake up with numbing in my arms and pressure in my hip area and side. I would however recommend it to back sleepers if I sleep on my back I don't have any discomforts. It conforms well if you are able to be patient and give it weeks to soften up. I am returning this mattress to get something more suitable for my comfort needs but overall it's not a bad mattress.if you like beds hat are really firm with just a hint of softness. This is your mattress. If you like the soft and cloud like feeling do not get this mattress.
I have Rheumatoid arthritis and need a mattress that will provide my back and the rest of my body with very firm support. My husband on the other hand like a mattress that will conform to his body and is much softer. My husband was also wanting a mattress that helped keep him cool in the heat. The Savant IComfort mattress was the best of both worlds. I have the firmness that I need and he has the softness and cool comfort that he wanted.
I purchased this mattress, without trying it first from a shopping network. To my great surprise, it's the best mattress I've ever owned. I used to have lower back problems, but now they're gone. I wanted a firm mattress, but nothing too hard. This is definitely the answer!!!
My husband and I purchased the Genius about 3 months ago from MOR Furniture. When we purchased the product my husband was having horrible back pain with my pillow top so we decided to switch to a totally different type of mattress, the icomfort genius because my husband loves firm beds. We did alot of research for about 3 or 4 months and finally decided on the genius at MOR. We fell in love with the bed from the first night we got it, pain went away and our sleep was amazing..... Now after 3 months I have had to rotate the bed because we have body impressions. I started getting really bad lower back pain about 3 weeks ago and noticed its all from the impressions of the bed. I have been in contact with MOR and they had a warranty guys come out. I have read others reviews now and noticed this is not just me. MOR will not give me a refund but will let me switch to any bed I want in the store I just have to pay the difference. Well when they only carry 2 brands I have to go with a Temp. $1,000 more than what I paid and I'm already in it $2500. I wish the bed would have never done this because we really fell in love with it the first couple months of having it. I would not recommend unless you like sleeping in body impressions!!! I now sleep on the couch until we can figure out what to do with this matress.
