Low quality cover material
My 10-1/2 year old, 25 pound, female English Cocker Spaniel has always "fluffed up" her bed pawing at it before lying down. Her previous bed lasted approximately two years before the cover was holed and the foam started coming out. The Serta bed lasted about two months before it was so severely shredded that it had to be discarded. My dog needs an orthopedic bed. She has severe hip displasia and related arthritis in her other joints. She cannot climb. stairs. She takes enough joint and pain medicines daily to disqualify an entire Olympic squad. She is regularly groomed, including her toenails. Her daily walks include concrete to keep the nails short. In summary, if a Serta dog bed can be destroyed in two months by a feeble old dog, I have to conclude that the materials used for the cover are completely unsuitable for a dog bed.
