Small/Cool NYC is Apartment Therapy’s award-winning home decor pop-up event with smart and surprising tips and tricks for small, cool spaces. They challenged 18 of the industry’s top designers and design tastemakers to create the smallest, coolest rooms they could imagine in 120 square feet or less. Each room has its own unique, distinct design style — and Serta is excited to be a partner for one of them!

Interior and product designer, artist, and influencer Kevin Francis O’Gara curated a serene bedroom titled “Restful Retreat,” and the space is exactly that: a cozy respite from the busy world.

“Inspired by Serta’s Perfect Sleeper Mattress, this restful retreat was designed for watching clouds and counting sheep,” Kevin says. “Utilizing a primarily monochrome blue palette and a few key small space design solutions, I brought my signature New Regency style to life through a sophisticated mix of style references, materiality, and designer finishes.” The Serta Perfect Sleeper Mattress lives up to its name: It’s ideal for every type of sleeper. They serve multiple purposes./p> “Multifunctional furniture is a small-space dweller's best friend,” Kevin advises. “Not only does a bookshelf make a great statement nightstand, but it also capitalizes on vertical space in the room. Opt for shelving with a closed cabinet base or use baskets on the lowest shelves to reduce visual clutter.”
