(6.01.05) Fire Safety Education

In June 2005, Serta® celebrated Home Safety Month by hosting Bedroom Fire Safety events across the country. Working with five local fire departments, Serta donated 100 flame-resistant mattresses to each organization. The mattresses were installed in the firehouses or given to local families in need. Serta and the fire departments also hosted mattress burn tests for the media, to highlight the importance of flame-resistant protection. Serta has been the first national company to include a flame-resistant system, FireBlocker® technology, in all of its bedding nationwide.
